About

A Day in the Life Project

As a CUNY SPS student, we know your day consists of more than just taking classes. Whether you endure tiresome commutes to work, push a 9 to 5 (or more) at your job, clean up the messes that the little ones made, spend what short “me” time you have to relax, or all of the above and then some, we want to learn more about the daily marathon that is your life. Our A Day in the Life project seeks to give you the opportunity to tell your story by capturing the little moments that form to make one complete day in your life. This project will engage our School’s community in a conversation about what it truly means to be a CUNY SPS student.

How This Project Works

Over the course of two weeks, you will capture specific moments in your life that, when pieced together, give us a brief glimpse into your typical day.

At the kick-off meeting, the CUNY SPS Student Services and Marketing teams will give you a checklist of sample moments you can document.  We will then ask you to submit a brief written plan confirming which moments you plan to record. These moments can be captured on video (using your smart phone), with photos and text, or via audio recordings.  After you finalize your plan, you will have two weeks to record and submit your projects to us in your chosen format.  The moments we collect from all of the participating students will be featured on the project’s website and shared with the CUNY SPS community.
