Sherlana Ernest-Prospere was born in Saint Lucia (a tiny Caribbean island known for the Pitons, beautiful people, and beaches). She moved to New York in 2012, leaving paradise behind for a taste of the big apple. Maybe the most ironic thing is she don’t even like apples. Sherlana’s sister says that’s a bad joke but she doen’t think so. Speaking of her sister, Sherlana lives with her here in New York, and now their family consists of her (Alex), her brother in law (Benjy), and a niece (Bellami).

Sherlana’s journey at CUNY SPS has not been an easy one, to say the least. As a Communication and Media major she hopes to gain a degree as well as a career where she can be happy. She also hopes to be someone her niece is proud of. After taking a break from studying for a year, Sherlana returned to school when her niece was born. She wants to watch over and encourage her while she goes for her dream here at CUNY SPS.
